My Friends,

Please Note: We have a thread: Reliable and Flexible Switching System we go into a lot of detail there.

NOTE: This Circuit is not mine to sell! However, I am not Selling the Circuit, I am looking into selling the PCB.

This thread is to see if others are interested in purchasing a PCB Only? If others are interested, I am happy to share my design and layout, a copy of the Quadratron by AR and GR, now called the IPC-quadra:

Please Note: I have made some important modifications, my circuit is based on, but not the same as the IPC-quadra or the Quadratron by AR and GR:

I am NOT selling the Circuit, I am looking at selling a professionally built PCB Only! If there is enough interest.

I see more and more, in need for a Reliable and Flexible Switching System, so if I see enough interest, I am happy to sell others the PCB and they can purchase and assemble.

I am not a business person, not by any means, but when I do things, I like to try and do things properly. We are now up to version 3.0 of the Reliable and Flexible Switching System, version 2.0 seen here:

If others are interested, I am thinking of selling the PCB Only. Not selling the Circuit! I am only thinking about selling the PCB and the Layout on the PCB. If there is not enough interest, I will not sell the PCB's and others can copy my circuits and source their own PCB's and parts and assemble themselves.

IMPORTANT: If you purchase the PCB, this means you purchase the parts separately and Assemble yourself!

This is V.3.0 in design:

You can see, its smaller, more compact, and tidier.

V.2.0 Specs:

  • Width: 133mm
  • Length: 130mm
  • Single sided PCB, single sided tracks.
  • RF Isolation.

V.3.0 Specs:

  • Width:128mm
  • Length: 124mm
  • Double sided PCB, Dual Tracks.
  • RF isolation

Please post below if you are interested and let me know if you are interested. Price wise, including post may vary, but the PCB may be around the $25.00 mark. This could change, depending on investigations.

Vidura is also selling Switching Tool here.

Best Wishes,

   Chris

Hello Chris, I've been in this forum for some time but I'm still a newbie. I like this forum because I am interested in these technologies for a long time and you are the only one where I learned a lot .. I am in a stage where I still read and test little, there is a lot to read and data to which I do not understand so I have to read more. I like your four-channel switch and I'm glad you posted the scheme .. buying a PCB is a skill for me .. I'm from the Czech Republic .. If you don't mind making a PCB at home according to your scheme ..

Hello Strape,

I am very pleased you find the information on this forum useful.

If I get some PCB's ready for sale, they will be professional, Industrial grade PCB's:

I have made some prototype PCB's at Home, in the past, but these new ones will not be Home Made. The PCB's I am looking at doing will be Industrial Grade PCB's like the picture above. Above is version 2.0, the new version will version 3.0 and better, it will be double sided, the one above is single sided.

At the moment, I am only testing the water, to see if others are interested. If not then I will keep going how I have done it in the past.

Best wishes,

   Chris

P.S: I hope this translates ok?

Since you design will surpass that of which I have been contemplating, would be glad to get a pair from you. Let me know.

My Friends,

I was also thinking of small Measurement Blocks:

If others are interested, I can look into this also, a PCB the 0.1 ohm resistor and the terminals as a kit. All you need do is assemble?

It will be Industrial Grade, professional PCB's also, if you guys are interested?

Best wishes,

   Chris

My Friends,

A small update. I have had more interest in the Measurement Block than the Four Channel Mosfet Driver but had some interest there also.

I have ordered some parts, and I have PCB's on order. As I get better at this, I will no doubt be able to make the prices cheaper! Postage is a very difficult cost to factor in as often Postage is more expensive than the item itself.

Some images of the current design:

The Datasheet for the Current Sensing Resistor is attached below.

Hopefully more info soon!

Design looks good Chris. A 4 channel fully isolated switching module isn't something one can buy on Amazon or E-bay (last I looked for them). Do you have data for things like minimum pulse width and quiescent current when using the recommended parts?

Chris posted this 19 February 2020

Hi Zanzal,

Yes, this is not something that is readily available to most people!

That's why I started this topic so long ago. Here on this forum on: 30 September 2017, on the other forum on: April 25, 2014.

Quiescent Current: Obviously this depends on ones setup. It can vary, but with a 5.5 volt input source, the quiescent current is: 0.25 amperes. Power is: 1.375 Watts.

Duty Cycle is wide ranging, but to be honest I am not completely sure on the best way to test and compare?

Across a 1K Resistor, the best Duty Cycle I can achieve with my configuration is: 0.020% @ 1KHz with a 4.32 volt Peak with a 5 Volt Input.

Perhaps not the best test, of course the resistor dissipating Energy after the switch off, thus the exponential decay. Below the 0.020% @ 1KHz, my peak voltage drops further.

I should mention, my Mosfet's are not state of the art, they are old 5N3003 Mosfet's, old and as far as I am aware cant even be purchased any more. Datasheet attached.

My Friends,

I have got the Kits for the Measurement Blocks ready to go:

I think the best way to distribute is via an E-Bay account.

Chris posted this 02 March 2020

Hey Guys,

I put the links in a new thread, but yes I should post here also!

I have two listings:

Measurement Block - Kit

  • 2 x two terminal blocks.
  • 3 x Matrix PCB Pins.
  • 1 x Through Hole Resistor 0.1 Ohms 1% tolerance.
  • 1 x PCB for mounting the components.

Measurement Block - Barebones PCB

  • Just a single PCB, you purchase the parts and build your self.

I have a thread on this: Measurement Block PCB and Kit on E-Bay which has listing images and so on. Please PM Me if you need any info!

Guys I am new at this, so I hope as time goes on, I can get the costs down. Post is crazy, so I am sorry for the crazy postage cost.

Best wishes

My Friends,

As I understand, the: 4 Channel Isolated Mosfet PCB, should be here today.

I have not seen a lot of interest on this, so I hope its not a fizzer. I have not ordered many PCB's and unfortunately this pushes the price up, so I can not do them as cheap as I had hoped.

I will keep you posted, asap.

Best wishes,

   Chris

Hi Chris:

When you get the signal boards, I will want to get two of each from you. The current blocks I want full kit on. I will source the parts for the other here in the states. I finally got back on Ebay so not going to be issue anymore.

Chris posted this 03 March 2020

Hi Thay,

They are very useful! I hope the 4 Chanel mosfet boards are here soon! I had hoped yesterday. Still, fingers crossed for today.

A HUGE Thanks to those supporting us purchasing these boards! These are some of my most useful equipment, you will see in my videos, I use this equipment all the time, they are worth their weight in gold. When your'e looking for something, it is much easier to look through the right set of glasses!

Best wishes my friends,

My Friends,

I got the 4 Channel Mosfet Driver PCB Today. They look really good:

I am not going to sell these on E-Bay yet, I am going to build one up first. Test it and make sure it is %100 perfect. It looks really good, but I want to be sure what I am selling is %100 excellent. We had very good results from V2.0 of the PCB:

Once built up it looked and worked %100 perfect! Many great reviews from all that received their free PCB! I am sorry all, I wish I could afford to do this for everyone, I just cant. Unless someone is willing to sponsor us?

So, more info soon, I hope to have a build in the next few days.

Best wishes,

   Chris

I did ask for two of each but if you only can spare me one sig-gen so that another experimenter can have one too, good to go. Can always wire up a second one on perfboard.  But I really do need two of the current shunts for sure. Keep me posted.

Hi Thay,

I can do 2x PCB's if you like. That's no problem.

Just so I am clear, these PCB's need to be driven by an external source. The 2 wires you see, and the Ports marked G P,  G = Ground, P = PWM, circled in red, are the 5V Input PWM's:

4 input Signals for 4 Channels.

Your Input Signal can be from a Signal Generator or similar. Vidura's PWM Board will be fine to drive the PCB. This PCB is really just an Isolated Switch, to cleanly and precisely control your Mosfets.

I hope this is clear and avoids any possible confusion?

Yes, Measurement Block Kits can be purchased here: Measurement Block Kit

Best wishes,

   Chris

What is a Scalar:

In physics, scalars are physical quantities that are unaffected by changes to a vector space basis. Scalars are often accompanied by units of measurement, as in "10 cm". Examples of scalar quantities are mass, distance, charge, volume, time, speed, and the magnitude of physical vectors in general.

You need to forget the Non-Sense that some spout with out knowing the actual Definition of the word Scalar! Some people talk absolute Bull Sh*t!

The pressure P in the formula P = pgh, pgh is a scalar that tells you the amount of this squashing force per unit area in a fluid.

A Scalar, having both direction and magnitude, can be anything! The Magnetic Field, a Charge moving, yet some Numb Nuts think it means Magic Science!

The great Nikola Tesla:

Ere many generations pass, our machinery will be driven by a power obtainable at any point of the universe. This idea is not novel. Men have been led to it long ago by instinct or reason. It has been expressed in many ways, and in many places, in the history of old and new. We find it in the delightful myth of Antheus, who drives power from the earth; we find it among the subtle speculations of one of your splendid mathematicians, and in many hints and statements of thinkers of the present time. Throughout space there is energy. Is this energy static or kinetic? If static, our hopes are in vain; if kinetic - and this we know it is for certain - then it is a mere question of time when men will succeed in attaching their machinery to the very wheelwork of nature.
