Recent Website Outages

My Friends,

We have had a lot of outages lately. My hosting company, Crazy Domains, tell me either its not them, or the App Pool on their server has insufficient resources to support this website.

Now we only have a few hundred pages.

Members are few.

A very small site in the scheme of things and very few resources would be required.

However, we are getting many outages. Three in the last 9 hours. Longest being nearly an hour.

I have tried to work with these people, but they are very hard to deal with, some support personal actually going as far as lying to me, I pulled them up and they could not support their response. I am very dissatisfied with the service and support at the moment.

I apologize for the outages, I am trying to do the best I can.

My Friends,

Great news, I have a dedicated Server Build, ready for aboveunity.com's future. I am just waiting on confirmation on a Static IP Address.

The new, dedicated Virtual Machine has all the latest features and has tons of RAM. Fastest SSD Technology available. This should serve us into the future. As soon as the Static IP is ready, the Website will go down, then come back up on the new Server.

I am very sorry my friends, going from a working site with a few small problems last week to a website that is virtually un-useable this week is just a joke! Crazy Domains, what ever you do, don't go with them ever! They are hopeless!

Sure it is not your fault Chris, Anyway it is a good idea to edit posts in a other application and paste to the website after, so also independent backups can be hold

It's them. You're on a shared server, a subdomain of their domain. They've packed too many other websites onto one server in trying to maximize profit, and their redirector daemon can't keep up.

At only 8% of disc space and 0% of traffic, if they're telling you you're overloading their server, they're lying.

You can dig out the other websites on the same server, contact them and approach Crazy Domains together to demand a fix... it'll give you more muscle than going it alone.

My Friends,

As some of you are aware, some of these problems have been going for over a year now. Session Timeouts and all sorts of funky problems.

I would not recommend Crazy Domains to anyone, not even Brad.

Wow ! now that is really cheap, almost as bad as a house owner i knew that rented a three bedroom house to 18 illegals. 

talk about bunkbeds.

same as what this hosting site is doing.

Agreed, they are crokard!

App Pool recycle is nearly every page refresh, the sites is currently un-usable. I am working on solution.

Hi Chris, I would also speculate that it's not too far of a stretch to believe that there is also some deliberate sabotage going on.
The subject matter that this site deals with, if all the details are ironed out is stepping on some pretty well financed, self important, toes. And one thing I know about people with power and money is that they enjoy their positions and possessions and plan to go on enjoying those privileged positions of power.

The last thing they ever want  to see in Dymocks are copies of 'Free Energy for Dummies' by Chris Sykes.

Hey MrBlobby,

Yeah, perhaps just a coincidence, perhaps not.

This is painful, very hard to post, log out every time now. They have set the app pool to recycle at any event. 

I am working on a solution, may be down again soon when I do a backup and transfer to new Server, one that works.

Crazy Domains are hopeless! Worst service ever!

My Friends,

We are RUNNING, wahoo! No Crazy Domains. I may still have some disk work to do. There is a bit of Allocation. So I will keep you posted.

I am so happy, we no longer have to put up with the most terrible service ever!

I warn you, don't go with Crazy Domains!

 

I will never go back to them! Ever! As you can tell, I am very dissatisfied! An angry Customer and I am not putting up with their lack of Customer Service! I paid them for a service and they cant provide simple Web Hosting services.

I have our Forum Hosted on a dedicated Web-Server now with tone of Ram. In the teething process and still doing some configuring. Please bare with me.
