That's why grounding is necessary. Plus wave resonance and safety .... Like that .....

 Some Critics have appeared, and some good points have been bought up.

However, there is one fact, that Critics over look:

  • The Device Works,

Ruslan walks around, the LED's Light. There is no Battery, no sign of hidden wires, no sign of faked demonstration.

Hi Team - This is a Live Post (Change at any Time)

I have started redrawing the Flashlight Without Batteries from Ruslan. I noticed some inconsistencies in the above layout, and when I get on a bender I cant stop. This may not be 100% correct, so please study and point out any mistakes!

I have done the best I can, studying the Videos, to be as accurate as possible, I may have made some mistakes however. 

 

 

 

If you study "Audio Oscillator Circuit" you may see some resemblance here. Also, there is a lot in common with the "Blocking Oscillator" AKA Joule Thief.

This Circuit has so much that most EE's would say are wrong and cant work. However we see it working.

I have updated the above post. Some small corrections.

I have a Circuit I have posted also.

Please check out the new videos I have posted in the first post. We have four now.

Please point out any mistakes you can find. I am fairly confident this is pretty close!

Where I have marked "possible connection", it is possible there is a connection there. However, it is also possible there is No Connection there. If there is no Connection, the Voltage Regulator has a Floating Ground, or Reference Pin. This pin is 3.37 Volts with 9V applied. The IC will run with 3.3 Volts, other wise, the IC is not powered and also redundant circuitry.

The IC is not doing anything any way! Not as far as I can tell. Its job was supposed to switch the Transistor, and its not doing that!

You can see lots of redundant circuitry. One has to wonder why its there? Is there an effort to confuse? Or is there an effort make evident simplicity's? Making obvious the redundant Circuitry? Four Videos is a pretty good effort for one device!

For All:

I may be wrong here, and if you see a mistake, please point out! I believe if one were to take out all the redundant circuitry, then this circuit would be something like so:

 

Now there may be an internal diode in the Mosfet that may play a role, but less all the redundant circuitry, this is pretty close!

Hey Chris,

It looks interesting. I went over images in the video and compared very carefully and I can't really find any mistake you made in Rev 3. 

Regarding the final circuit, I'm not sure what role C6 plays, perhaps it is redundant too? As far as I can tell its a Joule thief, but an interesting one. Definitely more complex.. Its hard to imagine it running endlessly, but it could run for a very long time. Have there been any other claims of OU involving Joule thief with a Voltage Regulator? For some reason I think maybe I've seen that once before, but I can't quiet recall. If anyone attempts to recreate definitely try with a diode across Q1 (unless the transistor already has one). That looks important.

Its really hard to imagine adding all that extra stuff by accident, and really if you didn't want to reveal the secret you could just cover the bottom of the circuit with masking tape. But who knows, perhaps it is intended to limit the audience to those who put forth the effort.

I spend 2-3 days off and on checking.

I agree with you!

C6 could be a decoupling cap, or a snubber cap for the Switch maybe... I left it in there because it also may play a role with the AC on the top end of the coil back to C3. Almost like a filter cap.

I think the point here is, the circuit pretty much is an advanced Blocking Oscillator, or an advanced Joule Thief Circuit. As you point out.

I can''t imagine C3 can replenish without a diode at Q1 across the collector emitter. Did you try to anchor the vreg ground to source anode rather than cathode and move D5 to Q1 base yet? Guess I know what I'll be doing this weekend...
