Hello everyone,

I thought I would start at the beginning by posting a video of My understanding of how Transformers, Motors, and Generators work. I think without a basic understanding of this it may be hard to understand what is going on in more complex devices. Please remember this is just how I understand what is actually happening.

 

 

 

The key takeaway is the core inductive reactance being variably reduced or changed due to the intensity of two magnetic fields colliding. Also, that a coil resists the change from a building and or a collapsing magnetic field.

 

I would like to thank Chris for taking all the time in providing free videos and all the information on this forum. The time and energy he has invested in this is INCREDIBLE!

I tried to zoom into your scope shots to analyze them a bit more, but I cant quite make the numbers out.

Its good to see you are having some success, hope the Numbers are looking goo also! I am sure they are, its not super hard.

Chris,

On this particular device with the primary around both the COP coils.

 

I see two ways of making this work:

 

1. The two POCs buck the primary first then when the primary turns off they buck each other ( and or collapsing field).

2. The primary first creates the magnetic field without the POCs bucking it and then they buck the collapsing field.

(by just turning the diodes around)

 #1.

 

 #2.

 

I have had the best luck with #2 not bucking the primary but just bucking the collapsing field.

 

It’s several times output at this point without collecting the revers energy recharging the primary capacitor. As you can see in the scope shot the reverse charge into the primary cap volts in yellow goes down past zero almost recharges the cap to full before reverberating back and forth.

 

I may be missing something on #1 POCs bucking the primary field first but I am unable to get a good output with this so far.

 

It would make sense to me that Don Smith did it with #2 not bucking the primary since he used a small neon flyback transformer that has very low power output and no primary capacitor to discharge. He just made the magnetic field in the core that the primary is wrapped on with no push back and then let them buck the magnetic field collapse, I think. Which is what I’m doing.

 

What has been your experience with this device, did you have better success with using #1 or #2 or something I’m not seeing?

Hey Adam,

Most all of your Scope Traces are on the Positive side of the Zero Graticule Line on each Trace. Very little going onto the Negative side.

I thought I would give it a go and try to see if I can help others figure out some of the polarity issues or geometry of the coils and how to figure out what magnetic field your coil is going to buck.

 

It’s actually very simple if you look at it like this.

Hello,

I have attempted to make a small list of ways to increase the output voltage of the secondary coils. Now this is not all of the ways but it is most of the known standard ways to increase the Rate of change .

 

Remember just changing how fast the magnet swings past a coil (Rate of change) will change the output voltage!

 

There may be a few more ways with just different winding techniques and coil configurations.

If you can think of any more configuration or disagree with what I am presenting, please comment.

Adam thanks for sharing, sometimes I tend to forget thinking of this as a generator, when Chris has said it many times, i have tried some of the suggestions you shared  but not all, I will spend sometime experimenting  with some of your suggestions.

Hi Adam, just want to express my appreciation for your detailed drawings and summary of guidelines and key points in implementation. This is so helpful and so valuable!

Btw, in your point 8 above the POC2 coils is wrongly wound. It would be really helpful if you can ensure correct winding directions (CW/CCW and opposing fields) for all the coils, otherwise it may be confusing for newbies who may try to replicate just from the images.

This will work CW / CW or CCW / CCW or CW / CCW.

You can get them to buck in any of these configurations.

 

I understand what you are saying but don’t focus on it. Take a Look at Don Smith CW / CW he made it work... also Tin Man….

 

I personally wouldn’t focus so much on CW / CCW right now. I would focus more on making sure the coils are reacting to the correct opposing coil.  This I have shown above with red tags.

 

In my opinion, I would work on just getting any two coils to buck with the same output on each. Like this…

 

Remember, you should have the same size load on each coil, bigger the load bigger magnetic field it creates and a cap across the load will help.

This is posted on another thread. I’m just posting again here for my own reference.

 

This is just my total speculation and guess on how Floyd Sweets VTA works or the principles behind it. Not sure how close I am to the correct answer but take a look. My hole theory works on moving (with very low input) the Bloch wall that all magnets have in the center of them or maybe something similar to this.

I was thinking I would revisit this.

This is my understanding of why Don Smith stated that the coils need to talk to each other and that the primary should be about ¼ wave.

But ¼ wave of what?

What is it and how does it work?

We must have the coils bucking with low power input first!

Because

High voltage is  DANGEROUS….
